    Back in medieval times. After Frolicking with a knight they would borrow chain mail to cover up as they went to get a drink. This custom has been adapted to current civilization in which the female gets one of their mates shirts or jerseys while going to the fridge.

    A bastard sword isn’t double-handed; they’re referred to as a “hand and a half” because they’re not quite a heavy as broadswords but they’re bigger than traditional 1-handed swords.

    Judging by this picture, that handle is at least 2 feet long. Way too long. Do a bit of research and you’ll see that the handles on bastard swords aren’t nearly that long (in general, they’re be about 12″ long).

    Even the Scottish claymore (as used in the movie Braveheart, which is definitely a 2-handed sword) has only a 13″ grip. In this picture, the crossguard is a little over her navel and if she’d hold it upright, the pommel would be above her head.

    For size reference, a Zweihänder or 2-handed great sword, is generally made 55-60″ long.
    I’d say that makes her a spinner!

    the pommel looks large even for a Zweihander and also note the small ricasso (typical zweihanders, longswords and 2 handed duelling swords have a large ricasso)

    me thinks that the sword isn’t based on an actual medieval sword but is more a prop/for show

    and before anyone says it, I am not a WoW nerd, I do however love Medieval sword fighting

    The sword is the least of the picture! That being said, longer swords need longer handles to balance. Pivot should be at cross-guard for easier handling. Now, anyone know the model?

    Also a bastard sword can either be used with both hands or with a shield, if you’re strong enough to handle it single handedly. It’s obviously a prop……. I bet she couldn’t pick it up if she tried, lol!

    It’s a Zweihander. A real, full, man-sized two-handed sword, rather than some pansy hand-and-a-half sword. Used for attacking pike formations and unseating knights by cutting their horse in half.

    Possibly not the most practical weapon for women in skimpy, ill-fitted chainmail, though.

    As far as I know, Zweihanders can be up to 6 feet long. Grutte Pier Donia is even said to have fought with a 7-foot sword (and a sword of that size, possibly his, is in a Frisian museum).

    There are a lot of pictures of super hot girls on this site. Not many of them carry big swords. The sword and chainmail are what makes this image stand out, so naturally they get a lot of discussion.

    Don’t underestimate the speed of a two-handed sword. With two hands, you’ve actually got more control over it. I’ve practiced with a German longsword (two-handed, though much smaller than this) and an arming sword, and the longsword was far easier and quicker to handle.

    But in the end, a Zweihander is not a longsword or an arming sword, and it’s not for taking on swordsmen; it’s for taking on pikemen. You need a big sword for that.
